Fate grants Terek (Shredi Jabarin), a young Palestinian on a suicide bombing mission, an unexpected window into Israeli society, and leads to a reluctant compassion for a small corner of Tel Aviv and its mysterious kiosk worker, Karen (Hili Yalon). But his growing affections come with the knowledge that his mission coordinator will remotely detonate the explosive vest at the weekend’s close, and his new lease on life conflicts with his oath to redeem his father’s honor. “For My Father” is an unsettling story of father figures, conflicting patriotic duties, and impossible decisions.
