After her sister  dies in childbirth, an ultra-Orthodox 18-year-old woman (Hadas Yaron) is pressured to call off her engagement in order to marry her late sister’s husband (Yiftach Klein). Refusing him is not an option in this community, where tradition, religious law, and the rabbi’s (Melech Thal) word are absolute. Hasidic Israeli writer-director Rama Burshtein brings us into this insular world from a woman’s perspective.
