Updated April 9, 2024, 4:00pm EDT: As you may have seen on social media or read in the news, there was a coordinated attempt to block the Israeli Film Festival from presenting our music documentary The Child Within Me at BMFI in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. This attempt to censor the arts and culture of Israel was not successful.
The Bryn Mawr Film Institute decided to cancel the screening yesterday, a day prior to its scheduled date. However, the Israeli Film Festival has filed for and was granted a court order (download here) earlier today requiring BMFI to meet its commitment to the festival and the community, and proceed with the screening as planned.
IFF’s mission and mandate is to connect all of us through the beauty, vibrance, humor, history and soul that shine throughout Israeli’s unforgettable films. For 28 seasons, we’ve shared these wonderful dramas, documentaries and comedies and are deeply proud of the impact they’ve had in bringing people together.
The show must (AND WILL) go on.
