The compelling documentary by Anat Zalmanson-Kuznetsov revisits the daring escape plot that her parents hatched 45 years ago with a group of other Soviet Jewish dissidents. Under the guise of attending a local wedding, twelve young Jews hijacked a Soviet airplane and attempted to escape the long arm of the KGB. Unfortunately, they were caught and sentenced to the gulag, while news of their failed escape caught worldwide attention and sparked protest against the Soviet government. Using interviews, archival footage, and reenactment, Anat paints an intimate portrait of her parents, considered heroes in the West and terrorists in Russia.
